Trip N Teach Kayak Course - St. Louis
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE ALPINE SHOP QUICKSTART OR QUICKSTARTPLUS KAYAK COURSE TO REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS!
A five-hour class that builds on the topics from our Alpine Shop Quickstart and QuickstartPLUS classes. Students will learn intermediate-level skills in a dynamic environment - the moving water of a local river. Learn how to negotiate currents, naturally occurring river obstacles, and outside boat traffic.
The class will begin in a calm portion of the river with skills review (the "Teach" segment of this course) and then will conclude with a short downstream paddle to a remote take-out location (the "Trip" segment of this course) to give students a chance to practice their new skills on moving water.
Students provide their own snacks, drinking water, hat, sunscreen and eyeglass retainers. Minimum age requirement is 13 with parental approval. For more information call 314-962-7715.
The meeting and put-in location for this class will be on the Meramec River. The exact location will be emailed to students to allow flexibility for seasonal changes to water levels. If you need more information please contact us at 314-962-7715.
